These unofficial lists contain early signers, other commitments and recruits, and walk-ons. We include the latter because, while some will not make the team, neither will some "real" recruits. A status flag (albeit imperfect) should help identify which is which.
Because a player is on the list does not necessarily mean that he or she has signed a letter of intent or otherwise made a formal commitment to attend the school in question; check with the school to be certain. The National Letter of Intent program is tied to an offer of athletic aid, and a number of Div. I schools therefore do not participate in the program. Some recruits who are committed to a school may not yet have been accepted for admission. For details on the NLI administered by the Collegiate Commissioners Association (CCA) see the NCAA FAQs and the NLI web site.
Signing dates for the 2009-2010 academic year are November 12-November 19, 2008 for the Early Period and April 8-August 1, 2009 for the Regular Period. [ close ]
To send names, we prefer that you use the submission form. You can also e-mail dan@laxpower.com, which will be easier for updates and corrections. We are especially interested in hearing from coaches or other college representatives.
Names come from college and high school coaches, media sources, parents, players themselves, and occasional others. If you have a submission to make, use the link immediately below. [ close ]
- How can I view the recruits instead of by name or school? The column headers are "clickable" one click will sort the recruits by that field, and a second click on the same column heading will reverse the order. You can also use the "sort by" field on the Search form.
- Is it possible to see only the recruits from, say, one state? You betcha (we betray our Midwestern roots). Click on Search below and then fill in the appropriate line(s) on the form to limit the records you want to view.
- How can I view the most recent additions to a list? Use the Search link and click "Submit" without filling in any fields on the form. Next click the ID column to sort recruits in ascending order, then click it a second time to sort them in descending order. The ID is a sequence number reflecting order of entry, so names with the highest numbers were entered most recently.
- Can I view more (or fewer) than 25 recruits per page? At the moment, you cannot (unless a search returns fewer).
- I want a list for UMass, but a search returns UMass-Dartmouth too. Use the Search link and type "Massachusetts$" (without the quotes) in the College box. The $ sign means "end of the string" (so "setts$" would probably work as well). To deal with the start of a string, use the ^ sign. For example, "^Roger" would return recruits from Roger Williams but not Williams. And if want Williams and not Roger Williams or William Smith use "^Williams$".
- How do I view recruits for non-NCAA colleges such as MCLA schools? Use the Search option and enter U for MCLA/WDIA/college clubs, P for P/G schools, or J for junior/community colleges in the "Div" box.
